I got a whole pile of wood at an estate sale last October. It was a variety of barn wood, cabinet doors, table leafs and just all kinds of goodies. In that pile was a couple of pieces of chippy white cabinet doors
The patina was so nice, all they needed was some cleaning. I cleaned all the boards with good old soap and water and a scrub brush.
After the boards were cleaned and had dried for a few days, I applied a coat of Varanthane Crystal Clear Polyurethane Satin.
I got a bunch of old medicine bottles at an auction recently. I like this green one for this project.
I ordered a bottle clamp from Hobby Lobby. They have a couple of different versions. I liked the simplicity of this one.
I distressed the signs with 100 grit sandpaper. I was trying to make the paint match the patina of the wood.
I attached the bottle clamp to the cabinet door and attached the bottle.
I like the lavender flowers in this. The purple and green naturally go together and are a nice complement to the chippy paint on the cabinet door.
