I showed the gather sign my God-daughter made from a paper towel holder recently. Well, she didn't want the rest to go to waste so she was inspired to make something for the birds.
As we were thinking through the project, we needed something to attach to our remaining parts to hold bird feed. Well, we went to the Shipshewana Auction Barn yesterday and found the perfect match—a granite soap dish.
She cut down the dowel rod.
And then she attached the soap dish to the bottom of the board.
After the dowel had been shortened, she reattached it with wood glue and a wood screw.
And it was that simple! It took less than 20 minutes to finish the project.
I love that she didn't want to discard the leftover pieces when we did the original project. Now all we need is some birdseed and it will be ready to go!
