I have accumulated several cutting boards and slaw cutters with the intent of adding graphics to them. I finally tackled a few of them.
These slaw cutters have a great patina, particularly the one on the right.
These two cutting boards have been well used which really adds to the final look.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the design.
A great feature of the Silhouette Cameo is you can design for exact specification such as avoiding the blade area on the slaw cutter.
You can resize the components and create just the right look!
Who doesn't like bacon?
I painted each board and then distressed it after the paint dried. The cut marks really show up in the distressing process.
Love how this turned out!
I put a clear coat of polyurethane (satin finish) on each of these. I put a hanger on the back. They should never be used for food again, just decor. These are very simple to make whether you use store-bought stencils or create your own.
All of the "after" photos were taken at an outdoor market I did a couple of weeks ago. It was blistering hot that day (in September!) so the traffic was really light but it was a fun day.
