127 Treasures—Part One

Just returned from two days treasure hunting on the 127 Corridor Sale (World's longest yard sale). Thought I would share some of my finds.

We left Thursday night to drive to Van Wert, Ohio. As we were driving along US 30, we could see severe thunderstorms to our right. It was the craziest thing. Along the highway, it was sunny and just over to the right was thundering and lightning. Then the road curved. And we were in the middle of it.

This one was taken after we arrived safely at our hotel in Van Wert.

The next morning it was still a little drizzly which delayed several of the garage sales and vendors from opening early. But we started finding treasures right away.

I found the Borden's barn at a little thrift store in Van Wert. I found the other barn at the Van Wert fairgrounds.

The barn came with this bushel basket of blocks (all for $20).

I hope no one else was looking for wooden rulers on the 127. I think I bought them all.

I found some great vintage kitchen items. I see the Silhouette Cameo being used to make stencils for a couple of these—stay tuned for future posts with 127 finds.

I found a few old toys along the way. Some will go in my collection. Some will be used to decorate Christmas trees. I did a Lincoln Log tree about three years ago. I'm thinking this year it there will be a Tinker Toy tree.

Finding the small trees to decorate with vintage items is always a challenge. The 127 is always a great place to stock up. All of these cost less than $4—total.

I didn't find any vintage Halloween items this year, but I found several vintage Christmas items. The cookie cutters will become ornaments for a cookie themed tree. The Santas will be added to my personal collection.

Jingle all the way! I found these gems in Bryan, Ohio. I love them!

Here are some odds and ends I found here and there. The BHG is in pristine condition and it was only 50 cents. Deal!

My last photo is of my sister with there McDonald's suitcase. She picked this up several years ago on the 127 sale. Kudos to her for being brave enough to pack it and bring it along!

I cropped her out. She may have used a sick day to attend the sale...

Well, that is it for today. I will post later this week with the rest of my accumulated treasures. We had fun on Friday despite the rain.
