I was taking a look at my inventory of unsold picnic baskets, wondering what to do with them. Keep? Goodwill? I thought I would give them one last chance to sell, but I gave them all a little facelift first.

This was a large one. I actually has a tray on the inside with picnic plates and cups. I painted the lid with Folk Art Oatmeal Chalk Paint.

This was a small cute basket. I painted the lid with Folk Art Mustard Chalk Paint.
I wanted the baskets to have adventure or wandering themes. After looking through some art. I created a couple of stencils with my Silhouette Cameo 3.

I chose "Not all those who wander are lost" for this one.

And "Adventure awaits" for this one.

I used Folk Art Java Chalk Paint for this one.

I used Folk Art Cascade Chalk Paint for this one. I wasn't sure this color would work with the mustard, but I liked how it turned out.

After peeling away the final (after the paint dried), I let both pieces dry for 24 hours. Then I sanded both of the lids to distress them. I sealed them with polyurethane and then "antiqued" the lids. I hit it with another clear coat to finish it up.

I was really happy how they turned out. Both are in the shop now ready to be sold! Cross your fingers for me!
